After about the third weekend in a row where I've got to stay in a hotel I get that deja vue feeling that I've never really changed locations. You know what I mean - same curtains, same bedspreads, same breakfast, sometimes it even seems like it's the same girl working the front desk. Whenever possible - I look for some place a bit cozier to call home for the weekend. Granted, it doesn't always work out exactly the way you have planned (don't ask me about River Rendezvous!) but many times you'll find a new favorite place to stay. This was exactly the case when we happened across The Holly Inn.
Located not far out of Carlisle, Pennsylvania off of I-81 sits the Inn. The old stone structure beckons you to enter even before you know about the delicious food int he restaruant, the fun times happening every night in the tavern and the fresh baked treats that are waiting when you awake in the morning. It just exudes charms and comfort like only an old building can, and we didn't even try to resist.
There are enough rooms that they almost always have availability but not so many that they forget who they are taking care of. You get personalized attention that you just won't find in a chain hotel and a warm, friendly reception when you enter the tavern or restaurant. It's easy access to I-81 and US 15 make it the perfect jumping off point for many southern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland shows. Located within very easy driving distance of Biglerville, Boiling Springs, Carlisle, Gettysburg, and Shippensburg just to name a few, the Holly Inn makes a lot of sense for your choice in lodging. The huge parking lot is perfect for the oversized vehicles most of us drive and the price is close the best in the area.
All of this said you might think you don't need any other reasons for staying here but there is another - the best one - and that's the women who own and run the inn. They put their heart and soul into making the inn not only successful for them but a contributing part of their community. Even the two art and craft shows they've planned benefit local organizations.Their phone number is (717)486-4194 and their website is www.hollyinn.com if you would like to get more information.
